QHOW SOON AFTER PROTECTING CAN ITEMS BE USED?

A: Items can be used 60 minutes after application. Warranty starts 4 days after treatment.

QDOES MICROSEAL HAVE AN ODOUR?

A: Yes, there is a slight odour during application that is not detectable once cured.  We recommend that you are not in the room during treatment as it is applied as a fine mist spray.

QI’VE HAD A PROTECTOR BEFORE, WHAT MAKES MICROSEAL BETTER?

AMicroSeal is a penetrator, not a coater. Coaters are hard and break up easily (upon manipulation or cleaning) becoming dirt traps that can make the fabric more difficult to clean than if it had no protection at all.  MicroSeal penetrates the individual fibres forming a “flexible” barrier that does not break up. MicroSeal actually helps to strengthen fibres.

QHow does MicroSeal resist wear and abrasion?

A: Treated fibres are more resistant to wear and abrasion because soil must wear off the protection before causing wear on the fibres. Similarly, fabric fibres must wear off the protective MicroSeal penetrator before they can wear on each other. This “wear resistance” promotes longer fabric life and less frequent replacement.

QWhat can the MicroSeal Formula be used on?

A: Virtually every type of fibrous fabric  including wool, cotton, nylon, polyester blends, silk, natural suede, synthetic suede and even smooth finished leather. You can have all types of items protected including fine furniture, oriental rugs, carpets, curtains, interiors of boats, planes and cars and patio garden furniture. MicroSeal is not effective on vinyl.

For Viscose, Art Silk, Cotton, Linnen and Jute we reccomend Fiber ProTector as a superior option

QIs MicroSeal colourfast?

A: Yes! MicroSeal will not change the colour, texture or feel of any type of fabric.  What’s more, if accidently over sprayed on wood, glass, tile or metal it will not damage the finish and is easily wiped away. MicroSeal doesn’t contain water so it cannot promote shrinkage or colour change.

QMy carpet was protected at the mill; can I still have it MicroSeal protected?

A: Yes, MicroSeal can be applied on top of every type of mill treated fabric protector with no negative side effects.MicroSeal is an added advantage to an already mill treated carpet because it is a better sealant, longer lasting and provides significant UV protection on most fabrics.

QHow soon can I have my home furnishings MicroSealed?

A: Once you have contacted us, we can usually schedule your home visit immediately and emergencies permitting can have your items protected within days!

QWhat should I do if I accidently spill something on my furnishings?

A: If it’s been MicroSeal protected you will find that blotting with a paper towel will work 99% of the time.  (For carpeting, using a spray bottle with 50% water and 50% white vinegar for stickier or dried stains can be very helpful too.)

If your carpet or upholstery has not been MicroSeal protected we have a stain removal guide with  helpful advice. For Upholstery, especially dry clean only fabrics we recommend you call us to get specialist advice immediately.

QWill I need to clean my MicroSeal protected furnishings?

A: Yes, we recommend that you regularly vacuum and tackle spots and spills immediately and you also clean regularly although the frequency of professional cleanings should be less. Also, MicroSeal will not wear off even after many professional cleans.
